What is on offer

Backstage is a desktop application in active development. There is no public release, no paid plan and no hosted service — nothing on this site is a purchase or a subscription, and no payment is taken anywhere.

The source is available at github.com/sup-Udh/backstage. Whatever licence that repository carries governs the software itself; this page governs your use of this website.

No warranty

Backstage is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It runs AI agents that read and modify files, run shell commands and interact with git in a project you choose. Those actions are real and some of them are destructive.

Permissions are yours to grant and approvals are yours to give. Use version control, read what an agent proposes before you approve it, and do not point Backstage at work you cannot afford to lose.

Your providers

Model calls are made with your own API keys and billed to you by the provider concerned. You are responsible for what those requests cost, and for complying with each provider’s own terms of service.

This website

The content here describes software under development and may change without notice. Where a capability is marked “coming soon”, it does not exist yet and nothing on this page should be read as a commitment that it will.

Changes

These terms will be updated as Backstage becomes something people can actually download. The date at the top is when they were last true.
